Basil M. Madigan, 86, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at Hospice Care Center in Copley.
He was born on November 12, 1925 in Wadsworth to Edward and Margaret (Holvey) Madigan and was a life resident of Wadsworth.
Basil was an engineering specialist at Goodyear for 45 years and retired in 1989. He graduated from Wadsworth High School in the class of 1943 and graduated from the University of Akron.
Surviving are his son, Dennis Madigan of Doylestown; a daughter, Toni (Ken) Hamby of North Canton; grandchildren, Kelly (Eric) Vaughn of Jackson, Mathew Madigan of Doylestown, Tracey (Shaun) Sheppard of Akron, Allison, (Michael) Cole of Sagamore Hills, Jamie (Tina) Madigan of Litchfield, Ryan Madigan of Cuyahoga Falls and Abby (Spencer) Mitchell of Sagamore Hills; and 17 Great-Grandchildren.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and Sudoku.
His wife, Eileen Madigan; parents; and 3 sisters and 4 brothers all died previously.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman with Pastor Phil Hulgin officiating. Burial will be in Maple Mound Cemetery in Creston. Friends may call one hour before services from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.Tuesday at the funeral home.
